In 1843, a French wine merchant named Placide Cappeau penned the words to the poem "Minuet, Chrétiens." His words became the inspiration for the popular Christmas Carol "O Holy Night."

Discovering the French Poem
"O Holy Night" is a popularly sung Christmas song each holiday season. Recognizing that its lyrics naturally present the hope of the gospel, CV North America set out to make a Christmas video driven by the famous melody. In the process, they discovered some of its fascinating history. The song is based off a French poem from the 1800s, and the English translation of that poem became the script for the final video.
