The Way Home

A son, estranged from his father, is prompted to reconnect after an unexpected reminder that maybe his father isn't as distant as he had thought.

Has life gotten in the way of what's most important? Maybe it's time to start afresh, return to love, and come back home.

The Way Home

The heart of the gospel

Come Home is essentially the story of the Prodigal Son, reimagined. However this wasn't our initial creative intention. We wanted to produce an endearing story for our Christmas campaign that highlighted the heart of God towards humanity. We started with inspiration from John Lewis commercials in the UK and similar films that large corporations produce around Christmas. We were also inspired by cultural iconography and sentiment that surrounding Christmas like the gathering of family and songs like Bing Crosby's "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You". We really wanted to place our story in the centre of the culture that surrounds Christmas. We threw these ideas to our friends at Jumbla! animation studio, along with the theme Come Home this Christmas, asking them to come up with a 'Coming Home' story. And this is the idea they threw back to us! We loved it! The idea that Christmas is ultimately the story of God's plan to bring a wayward humanity home.
